Singer Teena Marie dies at 54
Popular singer / songwriter Teena Marie R & B has died. She was 54.
Marie was found dead at his home in Pasadena on Sunday, Police Lieutenant Pasadena, Diego Torres said. Police and paramedics were called to his home at 3 pm after her daughter found her unconscious, he said.
She was born Mary Christine Brockert in California in March 1956, and was protected in recent times funk legend Rick James, reports Contactmusic. com.
Although he entered the entertainment world as a television actor on "The Beverly Hillbillies" as a child, it really gave flight to his career was his debut album "Wild and Peaceful."
The album included Marie's first big hit ', `I''m just a sucker for your love." Then he played "Fire and Desire" with his mentor James in his cult album Street Sounds.
Marie also made headlines in early 1980 that led to his Motown record label executives in the courts as a matter of contract - a battle that claimed it was illegal for a record company to keep an artist under contract without releasing new material.
The record label and Marie were separated in 1990 and the singer spent more than a decade behind the scenes, devoted to his daughter Alia Rose.
His next appearance in the spotlight came in 2004 after signing the rap label Cash Money''Clásicos spin-off label and released his comeback album, La Doña.

Kings of Leon's final gig of the year had to be scrapped after a fire broke out on one of their tour buses outside the venue in London.
The band was scheduled to perform at the O2 Arena on Tuesday but the concert was axed just hours before showtime due to blaze, reports the Daily Express.
More than 60 firefighters were called to tackle the flames and six people were treated for smoke inhalation.
Later a message was posted on the O2 Arena''s website that the show is postponed.
"Due to a fire onboard a tour bus parked onsite this morning, the London Fire Brigade were called and the venue immediately evacuated... Unfortunately, due to this morning''s fire on board one of the tour buses at The O2, tonight''s Kings of Leon concert will now be postponed," the massage read.
"Whilst there is no damage to The O2 there is now insufficient time to rig the arena for tonight''s performance. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will announce a new date shortly," it added.
